No matter our ethnic background, family and traditions will always be an important part of our lives. The things we do as children, help to mold us into the adults we become.
Cookies in the oven, playing dress up/solider, trips to the amusement park–things we've done as children that bring back memories of joy and happiness. We pass on this joy to the next generation through traditions.
From the birth of your first born to graduation, there are numerous stages to celebrate and honor in the life of your child and family. Show them how proud you are of their accomplishments.
Baptism & Christening

Blessing your child with a Baptism or Christening can be done anywhere that you and your family wish to celebrate it. A gathering of loving well wishers is a powerful beginning and all that is needed to start your child on a new path with the Divine.
If you have chosen Godparents, they are encouraged to attend. This is their opportunity to show their intensions and to publicly recognize the presence of that Divine spark within your child.
Your child will not be “dunked” in a pool of water. Instead a drop of Holy Water or Holy Oil will be placed on the forehead. Your child will be prayed over and proclaimed Baptized and Blessed!
The same service will be performed with your older child as it is with an infant, with one exception-the child will be asked of his/her intensions if they are 12 years old or older. Adopted children can also receive this blessing.

No one plans on getting divorced, yet statistics say there is a 50/50 chance it will happen. The pain associated with going through a divorce for some is more than they had imaged and need the support of friends and family at this stage in their lives. Having a divorce ceremony is a way of having closure for a lot of individuals as well as couples. Finding a way to mend the hurt, learn for the experience and become better having grown from the experience.
Naming Ceremony

Some families are looking for an addition to, or an alternative to a Baptism or Christening ceremony. These families can be either non-religious or religious and are interested in including friends and relatives from multi-cultural backgrounds in a non-restrictive ceremony, or wish to celebrate the traditions of their ancestry; these families hold a Naming Ceremony.
This is an event where parents publicly welcome their children into the world and give them well wishes and blessings. Compared to a Baptism or Christening, a naming ceremony is more festive and can be held on any day of the week at any time. The child can be either a newborn or a teenager. Adopted children can benefit from this service as well. You have lovingly chosen to make them apart of your family and give them your name; here is a way to celebrate publicly.
There aren't any rules as to how many people you can invite to a Naming Ceremony. You can have a smaller event with just family and close friends, or you can have a large ceremony. The best idea is to invite friends and family who have a high respect for your belief system and how you think.

From birth, we worry about their well being, keeping them from danger 
all the while, beaming with joy when they speak their first words. Blink and its off to kindergarten, and before you know it Jr. High. The milestones that our children make at this point, will help to shape them into better teenagers/young adults. Take the time to tell them that you are proud of them, and that you love the person that they are growing into.
Before you know it, high school graduation is here, and college letters are arriving in the mail. You know that selecting the perfect higher learning institution will give them a jump start into Corporate America, so only the best will do.
In a blink of an eye, your son or daughter will be getting married and starting a family of his/her own. Their career is booming and the cycling of life turns once again.
The cycles that our families go through are often times no different than another’s. They make speak another language, or have a different diet, but one thing holds true – our parents will always be proud of us and our accomplishments.
